Keeping Good Company:
An Indie Book Finds its Audience

Since The Nine Devines was released on November 25th, Lefty and Darius have been treated to countless letters, emails, phone calls, and conversations about the positive impact of the book. Nothing is more gratifying to an author than to hear how their story has resonated with readers. These authentic responses will always be the foundation in determining the success of this project.

In the publishing world, however, there are other metrics that distinguish the vitality of a book. As much as one might try to escape it, the number of sales will continue to be a marker. In this arena, The Nine Devines has demonstrated astonishing lasting power.

Asks For Your Support

As we pass three months since the publication of The Nine Devines, it is clear that the stories and themes are resonating with readers. Several have asked how they can help with continuing to grow the audience. Here are two easy ways to do so:

  1. Continue to spread the word one reader at a time. We cannot tell you how many people have come up to us and said, "a friend (or relatively) told me about the Nine Devines . . ."
  2. Click the stars and/or write a review on Amazon. Some of you have already taken this step. Reviews are the way in which readers who are less familiar with the story or authors are willing to take a chance on a book. You did NOT have to purchase the book on Amazon to leave a review. Here are the steps:
    • Log on to your Amazon Account
    • Click on this link: https://a.co/d/edACmIA
    • Scroll down and click "review this product."
    • You will be directed to click the stars and leave a review.

Readers and Critics Agree –
The Nine Devines of Chippewa Falls is a Revelation:

Literary Titan (5 Stars): “This book is not just about the Devine family, it’s about all of us.”

Readers Favorite (5 Stars): “Catches your from the very first to the very last page.”

Reedsy Discovery (Loved it!): “An excellent, heart-warming, sentimental, and inspirational read.”

US Review of Books (Recommended): “Masterfully chronicles the rich and diverse lives of (Dan) Devine and his siblings from childhood through adulthood.”

Dan Devine was one of the most public figures as the Hall of Fame Football coach of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Green Bay Packers, yet his upbringing remained a carefully guarded even to those closest to him. A vision by his grandson, however, when Dan is on his deathbed sparks a journey to uncover the Devine family’s often difficult and painful past.
