The Nine Devines is thrilled to partner with the Heyde Center for the Arts (HCA) for a unique, fun-filled, and informative event. The Heyde Center’s mission is to be “a catalyst for artistic expression and education to enrich the Chippewa Valley and beyond.” The HCA is also the ideal venue to celebrate the impact of the Nine Devines as it is located in the beautifully renovated building that once was a part of McDonnell High School, the place where many of the Devines pursued their diploma, learned life lessons, and began to chase their dreams.
Get ready for the ultimate game-day experience! Join us on Sunday, September 7th, as we kick off football season with a thrilling double feature. At 2:00 p.m., enjoy a special presentation of The Nine Devines. This deeply personal memoir by A. Darius Husain, co-authored by Deacon Devine—a proud member of the Chippewa community—explores former Green Bay Packers’ coach Dan Devine and his early years in Chippewa Falls, the struggles his family faced, and the impact of his rise to football greatness.
Then, at 3:25 p.m., the Green Bay Packers take on the Detroit Lions in their first regular-season game, broadcast live on the Heyde Center’s big screen. Whether you're a die-hard Packers fan or just love the electric atmosphere of game day, this is the place to be. We’ve got you covered with concessions, including beer, wine, soft drinks, and delicious food items like pulled pork sandwiches. You won’t want to miss it!
